DESCRIPTION:
Maxwell Technologies' 54BCT245 octal bus transceiver features a greater than 100 krad (Si) total dose tolerance. The 54BCT245 is designed specifically for asynchronous communication between data buses. The 54BCT245 transmits data from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus depending upon the level at the direction-control (DIR) input. The output-enable (OE) input can be used to disable the device so the buses are effectively isolated. Maxwell Technologies' patented RAD-PAK(R) packaging technology incorporates radiation shielding in the microcircuit package. It eliminates the need for box shielding while providing the required radiation shielding for a lifetime in orbit or space mission. In a GEO orbit, RAD-PAK provides greater than 100 krad (Si) radiation dose tolerance. This product is available with screening up to Class S.

1. Stresses above the absolute maximum rating may cause permanent damage to the device. Extended operation at the maximum levels may degrade performance and affect reliability. 2. The input and output voltage ratings may be exceeded if the input and output current ratings are observed. 3. Must be able to withstand the additional PD due to short circuit test, e.g. IDS. The PD number is based upon dc values.
